What Are Chinese Herbs?
Chinese Herbs are a combination of natural plant, animal and mineral substances used to heal and balance the human body, mind and emotions. Herbs can help balance the organs yin & yang and invigorate the Qi and blood. Chinese herbs treat both incidental (the symptom) and the fundamental (Iroot cause). It is a step-by-step treatment process that works steadily and gradually to heal the patient. The combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs will increase the effectiveness of treatment and hasten healing.

It is a step-by-step treatment process that works steadily and gradually to heal the patient. The combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs will increase the effectiveness of treatment and hasten healing.

What are they used for?
Muscular soft tissue - applied topically for osteoarthritis, tendenitis, sprains
Cold or flu - liquid or pill can be taken to cure the fever


How are the herbs administered?
They can be applied topically (to skin surface) or ingested depending upon the patient condition.

Do I need to do anything in the preparation of Herbs?
If the herbs are prescribed in pill form then you'll be given instructions as to when and how often to take them. Some herbs are provided as a mixture of raw materials in which case the instructions may be to boil in water for awhile then drink the solution. Some people do report the taste can be awful, but the curative effects outweigh the temporary distaste.

What if I feel nauseous after drinking a prepared Herb solution?
Some people couldn't stomach the taste of some herb mixtures. In these cases we may change the formulation or modify it to pill form.

What can be expected after taking Herbs?
Herb treatments are generally taken one to several times daily for several weeks. A beneficial change should be noticeable after about a week.

Will my Health insurance cover the treatment?
There a fewer Insurance companies who cover this type of treatment by itself. However it can be used in conjunction with Acupuncture and therefore may covered under this situation. The practitioner will make this assessment during the intake examination as to the best course of treament.
